it’s always the real thing ·

When I had my first experience of Cocaine after a 6 year break, it was with a couple of friends. What I learnt back then, having only taken a few lines, but nothing that could be considered using as such, was that Coke requires a vibe.

Without the vibe, the drug makes you look isolated and transparent. People will know you’re on something, they just won’t know what. Cocaine is about as far from the mind as Heroin is.

There’s a helluva lot of stigma attached to the ethos and mysticism of Coke. It’s from the same branch as coffee, which most people won’t accept. That is to say, they’ll say, “But coffee isn’t an addiction, and it’s not going to kill you.” The reality being coffee is about as addictive as Cocaine, is as bad as Cocaine since both stress the heart by pumping more blood around the body and therefore increasing the heart rate. Where as Cocaine makes irreparable damage to your septum, coffee increases the chances of heart disease and cancer, as well as high blood pressure and, I think, diabetes.

That’s not to say Cocaine is safe. There’s no such thing as a safe drug. But, the fact is it is LESS addictive than smack and nicotine put together. For every study that says one thing, another study counter arguments the said fact. One study says Cocaine is less dangerous, and less of risk than most of the other drugs out there, including pharmaceutical drugs and of course, nicotine.

It’s rather ironic that one of the most lethal, addictive and dangerous drugs out in the world is in fact legal. Tobacco causes more fuck ups in the body than the fuck ups Satan has made in trying to turn the world to shit. It’s so addictive a drug that if the world was to ban nicotine tomorrow, the entire world would be in a state of world war. You may think I’m exaggerating, but have you ever been near a nicotine addict when they don’t have nicotine?

It’s like they suddenly think they can turn over building, just to pick up a dirty, put out smoke from the floor. It’s sick, and it’s the level at which nicotine can put a person. If we treated users of nicotine as we did a Coke or Smack addict, we would have a world wide epidemic that could never be controlled. So what is the next best option? Legalise it, charge for it, and make money from it. Tell people they shouldn’t smoke, while hiking the price.

There’s this theory that if smokes cost a lot, no one would buy it. I think Governments are too intelligent to believe this, and they know that no matter how high the price, people will beg, borrow, and steal to buy smokes. They will therefore make money regardless. Of course, tobacco companies give a lot of money to Governments, for “research” and “generous donations”.

The feeling of not wanting to join is felt through the air, and that’s something that Cocaine is very sensitive to: emotion.

I’m not using this as an argument to legalise Coke, or Cannabis. I don’t doubt for a second they should be treated the same was as a cigarette. I also agree that Cannabis is highly dangerous. Do you know how many wars have occurred after people smoked some weed? Every war began with weed. They were so stoned to fight, they managed to get up and drive tanks. Yes, because weed doesn’t make you paralytic and dumb, it turns you into a fucking super soldier with incredible intellect and strength. It’s probably what Superman smokes.

There are a plethora of other things we should be worrying about. Corrupt Governments, broken promises, racism, sexism, retards ruling the Earth, poverty, sickness, mental people who don’t get a second look unless they stab a copper. This world was built on lunacy, and is controlled by lunatics. Instead of looking at the past, trying to make things simple, we move forward blindly forgetting what we’ve learnt and repeating the fucking mistakes.

Every generation says, “no more war”, “peace and love”, “equality and freedom for all” and some such. It’s bullshit of course, we are inherently evil and will continue to bullshit ourselves momentarily before we start destroying another country because they have something we don’t. Or because there is a political angle at which it would be an advantage. We talk about democracy and civilised societies I think it’s all a load of crap. The Greek philosophers would be rolling in their fucking graves if they knew what happened to their precious politics and democracy.

But I like Cocaine in a different way. The first hit is always the best of the lot, and the following ones never seem to provide the same impact. Though sometimes, it can surprise me. I don’t need as much as my friends do, in the sense that I don’t need to take as much, nor do I need the feeling as greatly as they do. It’s got to the point where it’s becoming habitual for them. Which worries me a little, but if they need help at any point, they can shout and I’ll run.

As I was saying though, the vibe is quite important. I think with one friend I have managed to be high, and enjoy it. I really enjoy it then, it’s a very cool, chilled out atmosphere, we can have a one to one, or we can just do whatever. It’s irrelevant as to what we do I guess, because there is no bad vibe whatsoever. It’s enjoyable.

Still, when the vibe is even moderately bad; if it even smells like a bad vibe, it ruins the whole thing. Too much aggression is fucking horrible, it ruins the high for every one. Even if people aren’t high, they stop caring about what’s happening, and then there’s this horrible silence. It pisses me off no end.

Then loudness also plays the bitch card. You can be high, and it’s cool. You can be moderately loud and still high. But if you’re bellowing to ships at sea, or calling God down to Earth, it gets fucking annoying as hell. It’s also a shitty feeling, and I just can’t stay in the same room as the monkeys.

If we treated users of nicotine as we did a Coke or Smack addict, we would have a world wide epidemic that could never be controlled.

Worst of all is anti-socialism. That is, you take the drug, and you drift off into your own fucking world. Not joining in, not really being a part of anything. The feeling of not wanting to join is felt through the air, and that’s something that Cocaine is very sensitive to: emotion. If one person is on Coke, and so is another, both can sense emotion at a very smart level. It’s like a sixth sense, and it can get awkward.

People shouldn’t take drugs if they’re going to go completely out of character. I remember, as I said, the first time I took it with friends after a several year break. I enjoyed it, but I did start to ramble on about films I would make. I was rude to quite a lot of people, and I made people laugh. But I also had a flood of memories of when I was younger and took it, and I don’t think I was prepared for all that. In fact I didn’t expect those memories to return. But I can manage it, I can have a laugh, and I can do so without seeming stoned. It’s good.

There’s some amusing slogans by Coca Cola that would be quite fitting:

“Where there’s Coke there’s hospitality” from 1948
“What you want is a Coke” from 1952
“Things go better with Coke” from 1963
“I’d like to buy the world a Coke” from 1971
“Coke adds life” from 1976
“Coke is it!” from 1981

I remember when I first took it, during the early years. We were experimenting with all sorts of shit back then. Acid, Speed, Amyl Nitrate and fuck knows what else. You were either the kid that tried a lot of everything, or the kid that tried nothing and sat out. You could never be ostracized for not joining in, or at least I didn’t. I never pressured or pushed anyone to join in with me.

When I first had Coke, I was laughing, because I wasn’t quite sure what was going on, what I was feeling. I started to feel a bit jittery, and then that went. I felt like I could do pretty much anything, and I felt uber cool, able to snap my fingers and it would happen. Ok, I wasn’t fucking Fonzie, but it had that sort of feeling, after all I was still pretty young. It was sort of “Woah” kind of feeling. We all drank whiskey, not really getting drunk, but getting high, and we laughed and joked in the middle of the room not really sure what the hell to do. I think we started a game of cards, but no one could really keep up. It was different for everyone, I remember that much, but the essence of the vibe was very much positive. Although one friend panicked, we just told him to chill out, and we all laughed afterwards. He seemed to handle acid better, which was quite interesting to see.

It’s a shame I can just pick a piece of my huge nose and stuff up my nostril so that it’ll be absorbed my septum. The reality is you don’t need to be snorting £500 worth of Cocaine a night to lose your nose. It’s a gradual thing, and every time you take a snort, whether or not you see it, the damage is being done, and it cannot be fixed. Eventually it will get to a point where you will have one nostril, and it’s not very good to look at, nor appeasing. Plastic surgery is what comes into play at that point, and you have to wonder was it worth it?

Still, I will take it on occasion, and I will manage it well enough. Whether the same can be said for the people I know, I can’t say for certain, but I have no intention of following their lead in their obsession nor in abandoning them in anyway.
